
Wilberta Lee “Bertie” Gibson, 93, passed away peacefully in Brookville, PA, on Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born April 4, 1931 in Venango, PA to the late Williard and Leda (Williams) Amy. She married Theodore Gibson on April 10, 1952; he preceded her in death on May 26, 2001.
Bertie was a homemaker and enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens. She loved to clean her home and decorate for the holidays. She was a member of the Valley United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir and helping in any way she could. She had a servant heart and was always willing to assist where needed.
Bertie is survived by a daughter Bonita (William) Champion, a daughter-in-law Gail Gibson, four grandchildren: Jennifer (Casey) Eaker, Sheldon (Rebecca) Champion, Jon (Autumn) Gibson, and Amy Champion and 10 great-grandchildren, three siblings: Marceline Andrews, Robert Amy, Alan Amy and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Randall Gibson, two brothers: Lloyd Amy and Harold Amy, and a sister-in-law, Juanne Gibson.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the service which will begin promptly at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rebecca Mihm officiating. Interment will follow at Castle View Cemetery in New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Valley United Methodist Church of Conneautville, or to the Music Department of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion.
