God and Family were at the forefront of all Russ did. He served his church and community as a trustee at the First Baptist Church in Linesville. He had a beautiful singing voice, a gift that he would joyfully offer in worship. He built a successful business over the course of 40 years alongside his brother-in-law Jim Bortnick. He loved trips to the beach and other family vacations. In addition to coaching his children and grandchildren, he took every opportunity to attend any activities to support his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He always greeted his family by whistling or telling a dad joke. He enjoyed playing basketball, softball, golf, and cards with his close friends. He never missed a chance to express his love and affection for those around him. Above all else, Russ loved his family and spending his time with them. He will be missed beyond measure.
