George Daniel Rendulic, who preferred to be called Dan, passed into peace on January 9th, 2024 after a long battle with many illnesses.
Dan was born on June 10, 1946 in Conneautville, PA to John and Josephine (Lasage) Rendulic. He grew up and resided in Springboro for the remainder of his life. Dan served proudly in the Marine Corps where he fought in the Vietnam War after attending Conneaut Valley High School. Through Dan’s service and sacrifice he earned the designation of disabled veteran, as he was injured in his term of service. After his tour of duty, Dan worked as a mechanic and heavy machine operator until he retired. He remained interested in classic cars and amateur radio all of his life.
He was a man of strong opinions and sincere preferences. If he told you he liked you or thanked you for something, you can be sure he meant it. He was a generous father, and although he had a gruff exterior he cared deeply for his children and their interests.
Dan is survived by his wife, Virginia (Scull); his daughter, Wendy; and his sons, George, Michael (Stephanie) and Matthew; grandchildren Michael (Yui) Hercula, Jason Hercula, Angela (Shaun) Hammond Hercula, Luke Smith, Audrey Smith, Dashiell Rendulic and Lachlan Rendulic; great-grandchildren Mira and Mona Hercula, and Marciline Hammond Hercula; a brother John Rendulic; a sister Mildred (Richard) Beery; and two great aunts Frances “Tootsie” Rendulic and Mary Rendulic. He was preceded in death by his parents.
All services will be private at the convenience of his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of McCauley Funeral Home, 1405 Main St. Conneautville, PA 16406.
