Betty Kovac, 95, of Conneautville, PA passed away peacefully at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard, PA on February 19, 2024. She was born June 16, 1928 to the late Leo “Mike” and Anna (Rogers) Adkins. Betty was widowed twice, first to Paul Murphy in 1953 and then Anthony Kovac in 1994.
Betty was a staple in Conneautville through the years serving in a number of capacities: Tax Collector, Registrar for the Dept. of Vital Statistics, EMT with the Conneautville Fellows Club, and the Borough council planning committee. She was also an active member of St. Peter’s Altar and Rosary. Most likely she should be remembered for helping to create the Conneaut Valley Historical Society. Always active, her hobbies included family history research (Daughters of the American Revolution member), button collecting, sewing and quilting, chair caning, bowling, gardening, reading, and her all-time favorite, BINGO with friends.
Betty is survived by three children, Paul (Diane) Kovac, Christine Jernigan and Mike (Dixie) Kovac, three grandchildren, Kristy Jernigan, Eric (Kelly) Kovac, Angie Kovac and, two great-grandchildren, Brayan, and Lily, a sister, JoAnn (Raymond) Morris, a sister-in-law, Veronica Adkins and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Adkins.
Calling hours will be held on March 24, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with recitation of the Rosary at 3:45 at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Saint Peter Catholic Church, 501 Washington St., Conneautville, PA 16406.
Interment will be in Rundelltown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the Stone Memorial Library 1101 Main St. Conneautville, PA 16406 or the Conneaut Valley Historical Society 24948 State Rte. 18, Springboro, PA 16435.
